The 1964 edition of the Encyclopaedia Britannica adopted this statement and even dated it to 2356 BC.

The Original Yi, written by the Tang Dynasty poet PI Rixiu, believes :" The beginning of Yi must be from the Warring States, the way of harmful, dishonest and false competition, when the horizontal and horizontal flow of work." How splendid is this!"

Chen Renxi of the Ming Dynasty also put forward "Wu Cao as Bo and Weiqi" in his book of Latent Qiushu. According to legend, Wu Cao was an official of Yao, and some people said that he was an official of Jie of Xia. Later, Dong Sizhang's "Guang Bo Wu Zhi", Zhang Ying's "Yuan Jian Xiang" and so on also recorded this saying.

Lin Yinglong of the Ming Dynasty believed that Weiqi was invented by Rong Chenggong in his book Shi Qing Lu. According to the Biography of Lixian, "Rong Chenggong called himself the Yellow Emperor's teacher, found in King Mu of Zhou, and was good at counseling."

Weiqi is a two-player strategy board game known as Yi in ancient China and Go in the West. Popular in East Asian countries (China, Japan, Korea, North Korea), is one of the four arts of piano, chess, painting and calligraphy. Weiqi originated in China and was written by Emperor Yao. It was recorded in the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period. In the Sui and Tang dynasties, it was introduced to Japan through Korea and spread to Europe and America. Weiqi contains the rich connotation of Chinese culture, it is the embodiment of Chinese culture and civilization.
